“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both…”
NEW LIFE, NEW BEGINNINGS
following on from
Here are some brief notes (in point form) that I made from a podcast by Carole Starr, and advocate for brain injury
‘Understand, educate, advocate, support’
Make a difference and contribute to the world in some way.
“Play it forward.”
Find a way to give and you feel better about yourself
Find out what works for you in “the now”.
Don’t give up: ie. the power of “purrsistence”.
Find your own path to success
Find new ways of doing things- ways that work for you.
We all want to be (and our lives to be) relevant
Find something you can do (even well?), then just start doing it…and amazing things can happen.
Start with small things
That’s where you find your power
Apply these principles (tips) to your journey
“I write to help people in some way.”
“I got a new life.”
Live with an attitude of gratitude.
Your life is not ruined by head/brain injury. It may be very difficult at times, but you can get through this and still live a good life.
Life is filled with opportunities, new ones. When one door closes many doors open.
That’s how life, the Universe (God???) “works”.
“Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.”
Remember, always, this too shall pass. You can still move ahead. It takes a lot of work to move forward, but you CAN do it!
“Adversity breeds resilience.”
“Adversity reveals genius, prosperity conceals it.”
– thanks, my old friend, Patrick
Helping promote better understanding and awareness of what is often termed “The Silent Epidemic” (and/or “The Hidden Handicap”)
“The task ahead of you can always be overcome by the power within you…and the often seemingly difficult or even “impassible”) path ahead of you is never as steep with the great spirit that lies within you.”
